"Widgeon" is considered to be one of the last fully restored original Dawn Cruisers left afloat. She was the 301st hull produced by Dawn Boat Corp. Clason Point, NY and was primarily built as a pleasure express cruiser/commuter yacht. Widgeon is truly a work of beauty and always is the center of attention in every port visited. One of the best features about Widgeon (which is extremely hard to find today in a yacht of her vintage and age) is the fact that she is almost entirely original. Her arrangements remain intact from her stained leaded glass liquor cabinet doors to her 4 foot solid brass engine gear shift levers. All of her modern equipment has been installed keeping in mind her vintage style, out of sight and without destroying her classic design. Even the installation of her diesel engines and instruments were done without sacrificing her classic look. The new instrument control panels, with all the "bells and whistles", were synchronized with the original instruments and discreetly placed on the back of a locker door. This allowed for easy viewing when needed and out of sight when the yacht was in competition. In addition, all three self contained A/C systems (one just replaced with a 16,000 BTU MarineAirr unit on 8/2021) were located and placed in such positions as to make them almost invisible. This holds true with other equipment such as refrigerator, microwave, VHF, Inverter, electrical panel etc. Check out website 1930widgeon.com for additional information.
